At First Sight

Assalamualaikum wbt...

I just watched a movie about a blind man... He was given sight pasal ya undergo surgery... When he first saw things, he was scared because he has been blind since he was 3 and he is already 25 kah... everything he sees was alien to him... Just when he started to get use to seeing... he loses his sight again... It was really touching...

He said, "I saw the horizon. Even though I couldn't touch it but it is worth reaching out for."

Even though that was a simple straight forward sentence, I could feel the depth of what he was trying to say... By saying 'saw' it meant he became blind again... throughout the second half of the movie, I just cried... Not cried as in 'all tears and tissue'... but cry as in really trying to understand how it is like to be in his shoes... When he stepped onto his shadow, he shrieked.. It was his shadow... In the middle of the movie, I started talking in my head... 'He is a strong person...' and I kept repeating that....

The most touching part of the story was when he knew that he was losing his sight... He threw all the books he can get in front of him and as much as possible, he flipped through all the books and looked at the pictures... children, waves, ocean, the sky... everything... He was scared that the next time he blinks and at any moment, he would see only darkness...

So after that movie, I stood up and close my eyes... Suddenly I feel alone... I was scared...

Me, Saya, Ana : Sometimes the smallest things means a lot... btw, it is based on a true story... =)
